Howorth Continues Strong Relationship with Biomedical Science Firm

Over the last 10 years, Howorth Air Technology have supplied more than 20 plastic isolators to a large UK based Biomedical Science firm.   Most recently, Howorth were asked to supply yet more isolators and modify existing equipment to ensure effective integration and increase capacity.

Howorth supplied the company with a further two new, level 4 twin half suit isolators consisting of a stainless steel base tray, supported on a floor standing powder coated, carbon steel support frame. The main chamber was fabricated from clear and grey PVC, which was bonded onto the stainless steel base tray. All plastic fabrication work was carried out in-house.

The isolator features included:

• Passbox in PVC.
• Main chamber.
• 2-off half suits mounted through the base tray.
• Inlet and outlet filters on both the main chamber and passbox.
• Exhaust fan on passbox.
• Inlet and exhaust fans on main chamber.
• Lights on main chamber.
• Fixed formaldehyde fumigator for passbox.
• Portable formaldehyde fumigator for main chamber.
• Controls/alarm system.

Howorth was chosen to be a suitable vendor for this project following an excellent 10 year track record with the Biomedical Science customer.  Upon winning the order, Howorth undertook a full site survey and their project team worked closely along side the customer to ensure the relationship continued to be positive for both parties involved.
