Howorth Boards the Orient Express

The importance of developing overseas markets has never been stronger. To this end, Adrian Parkin, Managing Director of Howorth Air Technology, has just returned from a busy trip to Malaysia and Singapore where he put the final touches to Howorth Singapore, a regional headquarters which will service all of SE Asia, and where everything from initial concept design work right through to validation of products shipped out from the UK to clients in Asia can take place.
In Malaysia and the Philippines, Howorth is represented by local company, DISA engineering. Whilst in Malaysia, Adrian and Simon White from the Singapore office, met with 30 representatives from the Malaysian Ministry of Health, and attended the APHM (Association of Private Hospitals in Malaysia) Conference and Exhibition in Kuala Lumpur, presenting information on the company’s Exflow Ultra Clean ventilation canopy and pharmaceutical containment equipment to key healthcare and pharmaceutical decision makers.
In Singapore and Malaysia, more than 40 new hospitals are scheduled for construction in the next five years, and Singapore alone has over 50 pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities. The well educated population means that skill sets can be developed for fast-tracking into growth industries. Malaysia in particular is keen to capitalise on “health tourism”, as well as improving healthcare for the indigenous population. All in all, the Asian market is fast moving, lucrative and progressive – an ideal client for Howorth’s world-leading operating theatre and pharmaceutical equipment.
