Product Manager - Pharma

We are looking for a commercially driven and strategically minded Product Manager to lead the positioning and lifecycle management of our pharmaceutical product portfolio. Operating within a fast-paced SME environment, this role combines product ownership with marketing leadership to ensure our offerings meet regulatory standards, customer needs, and market demands.

Key Responsibilities

As part of your role at Howorth, your responsibilities will include:

Product Strategy & Development

  • Define and execute product strategies aligned with business objectives and market trends.
  • Lead cross-functional teams through product development, regulatory approval, and launch phases.
  • Monitor industry developments, competitor activity, and emerging technologies to inform product innovation.

Marketing & Commercialisation

  • Develop and implement go-to-market strategies, including branding, messaging, and promotional campaigns.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to create compelling product content and collateral.
  • Conduct market segmentation and customer profiling to support targeted marketing efforts.

Lifecycle Management

  • Manage the full product lifecycle from concept through to phase-out, ensuring profitability and compliance.
  • Analyse product performance metrics and customer feedback to drive continuous improvement.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Liaise with regulatory, quality assurance, and operations teams to ensure product integrity and compliance.
  • Build strong relationships with industry professionals, strategic partners and opinion leaders.

Data & Insight

  • Use market intelligence, CRM data, and sales analytics to guide product decisions and marketing strategies.
  • Prepare business cases and ROI analyses for new product proposals and marketing initiatives.

Qualifications & Preferred Skills

  • Degree in life sciences, pharmacy, or a related field.
  • Marketing qualifications are a plus but not essential.
  • More important is the willingness to engage in continuous learning and development.
  • Passion for innovation, customer-centricity, and commercial success.

Desired Experience

  • Proven experience in product management within the pharmaceutical or life sciences sector.
  • Experience launching new pharmaceutical products or managing established brands.
  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical regulations, product development, and marketing principles.
  • Experience working in an SME environment with a hands-on, adaptable approach.
  • Excellent communication, project management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Commitment to innovation, integrity and continuous improvement.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems, digital marketing tools, and data analytics platforms.
